LiFePO4 batteries for your camping adventures

Nowadays, there are many different forms of camping, more choices of camping, the camping experience has been greatly improved, and the equipment and facilities have become more and more abundant. The number of people choosing to go camping has grown exponentially. Since camping trips usually last from 2-7 days, it is crucial to have enough batteries for the trip to better power communication devices, lighting and other necessary electrical equipment.
If you are new to wilderness camping, the variety of camping formats can be confusing. Here we'll explore what the differences are between the different types of camping and how best to prepare adequate power for an RV wilderness trip.

Types of Camping
When it comes to camping, we often come across these confusing terms in addition to the known broader meaning of “camping”: Boondocking, dispersed camping and dry camping.


Boondocking: Camping in a remote area without the use of utilities and other connections. With no access to garbage facilities, traditional fire pits, picnic areas, or utilities, and having to bring your own water, boondocking is a form of off-grid living away from the hustle and bustle of city life and enjoying the serenity of the wilderness. In an RV and without a fee.


Dispersed Camping: camping on public lands (e.g., national and state parks, national and state forests, wilderness areas, and Bureau of Land Management) in an RV, tent, or without any form of shelter, outside of established campgrounds, not connected to or without access to other amenities, remote and without cell phone service, and free of charge. It is necessary to carry emergency communication equipment and have plenty of RV battery power to keep your RV camping trip safely underway.


Dry Camping: literally usually refers to camping without a water source and needs to be brought. The absence of any hookups indicates that there is no power connection and no water connection. Can be done at established or primitive campgrounds and may be paid or free.


These are the more mainstream categories of camping, and regardless of the form of camping, you will need to have batteries or spare batteries as a back-up power source for your trip.

RV traveling will generate electricity to provide power for the equipment in the RV to maintain operation, but when the RV is parked, the battery is needed to provide power for the equipment.
